I was in London to do an editorial for a British magazine, so of course I had to stay in a hotel. I have stayed in many hotels in London before, but never had a favorite…until now. It’s not that I ask much. I just want a soft pillow, a mattress that doesn’t give me pains and a great shower. Oh, and I really appreciate a gym, so I can sweat all those dirty layers of makeup off after a day of hard work. The St. Martin’s Lane is my new favorite. Not only because its right in the center of everything in Soho, close to all the plays, and not because Bungalow 8 is located in the basement (I found out after I left, I am so not well informed about anything in London!). But mostly I like this hotel, because the people are friendly, rooms are very well thought out, room service is fast and good, and you can go to the big gym (Gym Box) next door for free. I worked out while a DJ was spinning, well that was a new experience! And on top of that the highest floors have amazing views, but this hotel is also hip and the place to be! So next time it’s possible when you stay here, you see me walking by in the lobby, coming from the gym, sweating and with a red head!

Another day, another Vogue cover for Reese Witherspoon. The Oscar winner is gracing the front of the November issue and the accompanying photo shoot has her posing with her fashion vitamin Olivier Theyskens. Sarah Jessica Parker may not want to do anything with him, but Reese surely does!

Recession? What recession? If there’s one person who you can count on for excess no matter what the economic climate, it’s Kaiser Karl, who with his Chanel team has created a Chanel fishing rod, complete with quilted leather case and double C latches. Just think of it as your 2.55 when you’re out on the lake. Go fish!

So, what do super groomed celebrity chefs wear? Thomas Pink. Tyler Florence just purchased a Pristine Shirt in white for $180 which is water and stain repellent at the retailer’s Madison boutique and we imagine it’s perfect for cooking on all fronts and counters.

Chic Report couldn’t be more excited about the opening of Luau, a contemporary version of the Hollywood classic eatery that played host to the Rat Pack in the ’50s and ’60s at the height of the Tiki heyday. Conceived by jewelry designer Loree Rodkin and renowned Chef Mako, the stunning Balinese-inspired décor was dictated by the classic famous for legendary drinks and beautiful people. Mixologist Jeff Berry extensively researched all those happy memories and created a new cocktail menu that will no doubt entertain new generations.
